  • KS2 Sports Day

    Fri 23 Jun 2023

On Friday 16th June, KS2 held their Sports Day! It was a fantastic morning with fantastic weather too! Children competed in a number of events: bean bag race, skipping, sack race, egg and spoon and the sprint.

  • Year 3 Perform with the Halle Orchestra!

Mon 19 Jun 2023 Mrs Dolman

On Friday, Year 3 had the incredible opportunity to perform alongside the Halle orchestra as part of an event led by Derbyshire Music Partnership. They have been working really hard all year with Mrs Salt to learn the flute and learn a number of songs to develop their musicality.

The event was alongside many other schools and it was fantastic to see so many young children playing instruments and enjoying classical music.

What a fantastic afternoon had by all (and lots of very excited staff!)

  • Leiden Residential 2023

Sat 10 Jun 2023 Mrs Dolman

On Wednesday, 16 of our Year 6 pupils had a once in a lifetime trip to Leiden, Holland with Mrs Dolman and Miss Key. We were also joined by children from Newton Primary School, Stonebroom Primary School and Westhouses Primary School.

We spent day 1 at 'The Deep' in Hull and got to take part in a sea-themed murder mystery activity as well as looking at all of the fascinating sea life. Then we boarded the ferry ready for the big journey! We all thoroughly enjoyed the buffet meal and were treated to a spontaneous foam party/disco and show in the evening! Everyone was exhausted and slept though the bumpy night!

On Thursday, we disembarked at Rotterdam port and headed into Leiden where we spent the day exploring the wonderful sights. We had a river cruise; walked around the shops and finished off with ice creams by the windmill. Then it was back on the ferry for another delicious meal, disco and two shows!

It was a very bumpy right on Thursday and there were a few queasy tummies!

Friday morning consisted of our final full English and a ride home.

Mrs Dolman and Miss Key couldn't be prouder of our children. They had exceptional manners (this was commented on by a number of passengers and staff), behaviour was excellent and it was an absolute pleasure seeing their happy faces.
