Visions and Values
Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.
Shirland Primary is a happy school with a very positive ethos. We believe that all children can be encouraged to do their best in this supportive and hardworking environment. The governors and all the staff at Shirland are fully committed to providing the best possible educational opportunities for all the children.
We are very proud of the care, guidance and support that we offer our pupils. We value and respect each pupil’s background and we encourage mutual respect. We aim to create a friendly, secure environment where the children are encouraged to learn academic, expressive and social skills that will enable them to develop into happy, independent, disciplined and self-motivated people.
As part of our school vision for our children to: 'Be the Best they can be! ' pupils have access to a broad and balanced curriculum as well as gaining the opportunity to develop their personal and social values subsequently preparing them for adult life. The curriculum at Shirland Primary School promotes pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and pupils have access to many additional events that promote British Values while preparing them for their futures.
