  • David Nieper Concert

Tue 08 Mar 2022 Mrs Dolman

We were very proud of our incredibly talented choir this week who performed at David Nieper Academy along with other local schools. They performed 3 songs with all of the other schools and then chose to perform 2 of our school songs including 'Try Everything'.

A huge thank you to Mrs Newton who has worked really hard with our choir to practise and who did a fantastic job at conducting them on the night!

  • World Book Day

Thu 03 Mar 2022 Mrs Dolman

Today we celebrated World Book Day and helped to raise money for Sheffield Children's Hospital by wearing out pyjamas, bringing in our teddies and reading some bedtime stories.

We started the day with an assembly where we found out about world book day and learnt a fantastic song all about reading.

KS1 had a visit from a local author, Shelley Wilcockson who talked about her love of books, how she became and author and read some extracts from her latest books.

KS2 joined in with the BBC Live Lesson and completed lots of exciting activities about their favourite books.

At the end of the day, we held a book swap and we had so many excited children (and adults!) who came along to choose a new book and donate their used books. This proved a HUGE success and is something we will definitely do again in the near future.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped to raise money for Sheffield Children's Hospital.
