Our school will broaden the horizons of all its children and help them to develop into responsible
young people with enquiring minds and a desire for lifelong learning.
Shirland Primary is a happy school with
a very positive ethos. We believe that all children can be encouraged to
do their best in this positive, hardworking environment. The governors
and all the staff at Shirland are fully committed to providing the best
possible educational opportunities for all the children.
We value and respect each pupil’s background and we encourage mutual
respect. We aim to create a friendly, secure environment where the
children are encouraged to learn academic, expressive and social skills
that will enable them to develop into happy, independent, disciplined,
self-motivated people.
Parents are always welcome in school. We ask all new parents to sign a
Home-School Agreement between you, as caring parents, your child and the
school; this forms the basis of a strong partnership, which we hope will
last throughout their primary years.
In September 2011, our school moved to a brand new site on Park Lane,
Shirland. This has united the Junior and Infant classes on one site, and
provided our pupils with a purpose-built, cutting-edge, beautiful
building in which to learn.
