• Year 5 Science Enterprise Day!

  We are so proud of our four Year 5 pupils who went to David Nieper Academy today to take part in science enterprise day. They had to make a glider and see who could make theirs fly the furthest and the straightest! The children worked really hard all day to plan, make and test out their gliders before entering the competition.

  We were thrilled that one of our team won!

  The four children were absolutely fantastic and showed just how wonderful the children at Shirland Primary School are. A huge thank you to Mrs Pilkington for taking them.

• Year 5 Art Day at David Nieper Academy

  Four lucky Year 5 pupils got the opportunity to visit David Nieper Academy to take part in two creative Art Day sessions. On day 1 they spent the whole day designing and creating a giant clay bug and on their second visit, they had the chance to glaze their creations before they have been sent off to be fired in the on-site kilns. They are really looking forward to seeing their final colourful sculptures very soon.
