  Shirland Primary School supported a local community initiative this Christmas by sending hand made Christmas cards and messages from our children to nominated residents in the Shirland Community. It was wonderful to read in the Derbyshire Times that these hampers and cards had brought Christmas cheer to those living in the community. Thank you to the team of volunteers who worked hard to put these hampers together and deliver them to our elderly residents. It was our pleasure to be part of such a wonderful idea.

• Food Bank

  Thank you to all of the parents and carers from Shirland who donated the food and drink for the food bank appeal.

  Two tables of tinned, jarred and packaged long-life food was donated on Friday 23rd October which was then taken to Trussell Trust at the Clay Cross Food Bank. 

  Trussell Trust were very grateful and informed us that an impressive 82.55Kg was given. This will be used to help reduce the effects of food poverty in our wider community.
