There's a snake in my school!
Shirland Primary School welcomed a special visitor on Thursday 18th June. A young grass snake made it's way into the school and was safely rescued by Mr Chapman.
We were aware of the presence of this UK native species round the hedgerow at the back of the field but had never had the pleasure of seeing one so close to school.
After carefully being viewed by pupils and staff, the beautiful creature was released into a safe, natural environment away from the school building.
